March & April Faves

So this post accompanies a YouTube Video! I haven’t uploaded a video in like 2 weeks (What’s that about?!) I hope you haven’t missed my face too much! I thought I would give you an update about what I have been loving these last two months. If you know me, you know I love food so that gets a mention but as does beauty and some other bits and bobs!

I didn’t want the video to be too long and I apologise its running at 15 minutes but I just had so much I wanted to share with you. I actually had to omit so much 🙁

Ah well never mind that’s why the written word was invented so I could share with you here! Wahoo! (Well actually the written word predates YouTube but whatever!)

So I’ve been listening to quite a few podcasts these past few months in the name of broadening my horizons. I drive half an hour and back for work so it’s very easy to put on a podcast and educate myself and learn new things, have a laugh and what have you.

So my top podcasts at the moment (in no particular order)

1. Risk!
2. Criminal
3. Stuff your Mom never told you
4. The Read

Risk!

Is a podcast run by Kevin Allison and the tagline is ‘stories you never thought you’d dare to share’ and the stories are great. It is adult though with some people telling stories of BDSM, bodily functions and highly embarrassing moments. The stories are relatable and poignant and the story tellers really need to be commended some of the things they share, well I wouldn’t dare to! Check it out here.

Criminal

‘Criminal is a podcast about crime. Stories of people who’ve done wrong, been wronged, or gotten caught somewhere in the middle.’ Its highly interesting. If you liked ‘Serial’ you’ll definitely like this podcast too

Stuff Mom Never Told You

Stuff Mom Never Told You is a podcast run by 2 women Cristen & Caroline who delve into anything and everything definitely check them out.

The Read

You guys know how I feel about The Read. I even did an article on this site from an episode I heard whilst driving in my car which you can find here. Which was about racism and ignorance from certain people around the film Selma. I realise that I talk about race a lot on this site! seeing as I talk and write about it a lot, its very important to me (obviously! Wouldn’t devote so much time to it if it wasn’t!) Anyway check out Kid Fury and Crissle here. It’s a podcast covering hip-hop and pop culture for the most part although they often discuss like few the perspective of being black and gay; and black and lesbian. They are straight to the point and direct! So, be warned! This podcast uses a lot of expletives so don’t play when your children are around!

I wanted to discuss these podcasts in my faves but the video was running for too long.
